She is the final heiress and descendant of the ancient Miroku ninja clan, a female lineage originating in the Sengoku era. Her heritage stems from mixed parentage: her father is Seikima, the demonic King of the Shikima, while her mother, Maria, is a human and former Miroku ninja. This half-demon ancestry grants her distinctive blue blood, referenced in the series' title. Her older sister, Miyu Mido, resulted from Maria's prior union with a Suzuka clan member, making them non-blood-related siblings. Due to this family history, Maria faced exile from the Miroku clan, leading Miko to be raised and formally trained in ninjutsu by her grandmother.
