Kwairde loyally serves noble House Haven in the kingdom of Da'nan. His primary duty is protecting Prince Redon, heir to Lord Haven. Kwairde displays significant combat proficiency, wielding a dagger and a whip effectively against threats.

When traitorous factions within the royal cavalry assassinate Lord Haven and his wife Meira, Kwairde immediately secures Prince Redon's safety. He facilitates the prince's escape from Da'nan, journeying alongside companions Nasare and Madam Aderishia. This flight leads them to the impenetrable Gods' Wall bordering the sacred lands of Crystania. After Barbas lures Redon and opens a path through the Wall, Kwairde accompanies the prince into this foreign realm.

Within Crystania, Kwairde continues his protective role. He confronts hostile entities, including shape-shifting lizard men serving the god Rumiss, demonstrating his combat abilities. He later aids Boakes' group, followers of the god Direon, defending the dark elf Sheru against attackers. During the subsequent journey, Kwairde is captured alongside Boakes and the young mage Raifan following an attack orchestrated by Barbas on a village sheltering them.

Imprisoned within Dayton Castle, Barbas' stronghold, Kwairde escapes his cell with Boakes and Raifan. He rejoins the conflict outside the castle, confronting Garudi – one of Barbas' lieutenants transformed into a sabretooth tiger – to protect Sheru. Kwairde then accompanies Prince Redon deeper into the castle as they press towards Barbas' throne room, participating in the efforts to breach its defenses and confront the Gods' King.
