OVA
Description
Pirotesse, later known as Sheru, originates from Record of Lodoss War, arriving in Crystania alongside Ashram after leaving Lodoss. In Crystania, she assumes the name Sheru, meaning "Those that wait forever" in elvish, symbolizing her pledge to use this identity until Ashram overcomes the god beast Barbas. Ashram becomes possessed by Barbas after making a pact with the god, transforming into the entity Barrados; Sheru witnesses this transformation and escapes, taking the Chaos Ring—an artifact capable of banishing souls to the chaos realm.

Her physical depiction in Crystania media features lighter skin and hair compared to her original design, though her core identity as Ashram's loyal follower remains. In the film *Legend of Crystania: The Motion Picture*, Sheru seeks allies to confront Barrados, revealing Ashram's struggle against Barbas's control. During the climax, she reluctantly uses Ashram's sword, Soul Crusher, to kill his possessed body at his request, freeing him from Barbas but causing his physical death.

The OVA *Legend of Crystania: The Chaos Ring* continues her story, depicting Sheru haunted by dreams revealing Ashram's soul is tormented in the chaos realm by a manifestation of their former king, Beld. Interpreting this as a plea, she resolves to rescue him by entering the chaos realm using the Chaos Ring. Her journey intersects with Redon and his companions, who combat ancient threats reemerging in Crystania. Sheru focuses on reaching Ashram's soul and reigniting his resolve, pivotal to thwarting Barbas's followers' plans to resurrect their god. After Ashram's death in the film, Sheru initially abandons her quest but resumes it upon sensing his enduring torment. Her actions consistently emphasize her loyalty and determination to secure Ashram's freedom beyond his physical demise.
