Description
Hoi appears as a supporting character in the animated OVA *Space Travelers: The Animation*, an expansion of the fictional anime series featured within the live-action film *Space Travelers*. Operating as a smuggler driven by personal profit over group loyalty, his characterization embodies science fiction anime archetypes, specifically depicted as a "skeezy Chinese smuggler-type." This self-serving nature creates friction within the Space Travellers crew dynamic.

During the live-action film's bank robbery hostage scenario, characters adopt personas from the fictional anime. One hostage expresses dissatisfaction upon being assigned Hoi, perceiving him as "the only character who seems to be a jerk" in that universe, highlighting his distinct role as an unsympathetic figure.

Visually, Hoi's design blends eclectic influences, merging 1980s science fiction anime aesthetics with elements reminiscent of Tatsunoko productions, *Lupin III*, and *GI Joe*, resulting in a distinctive look. Eddie Paul provided Hoi's voice in the English adaptation of the OVA.
