Description
Shuten Douji, originally named Toshitada Koma, was born in 1551 in Kyoto during Japan's Warring States period. A young samurai lord fiercely protecting his territory and seeking to unify Japan, his mounting frustration with his clan's limited power made him ripe for manipulation. The demon emperor Arago sensed this ambition and offered immense power in exchange for service, leading the teenager to abandon humanity and become one of Arago's Four Heavenly Kings.

Transformed into the Oni Masho (Ogre Demon General), he wore the Oni Armor, symbolizing cruelty and the virtue of loyalty (Chu). His armor's primary weapon was the Yokoshima Oni Kama, a chain-sickle with a clawed weight, executing his signature Ko Rai Sen (Crimson Lightning Flash) technique, generating red lightning and entangling foes with electrified chains. Ruthless yet honorable, he disdained sneak attacks and mediocrity, valuing direct combat.

His suppressed human consciousness remained under Arago's control until repeated failures cost him his leadership among the Masho. The spirit Kaos intervened, awakening Shuten Douji's true self and freeing him from Arago. This redemption led him to ally with Nasutei and Jun in the quest for the Inochi no Magatama (Jewel of Life), a sacred artifact vital to defeating Arago.

He developed mutual respect with the protagonists, becoming essential in the final confrontation against Arago. His redemption culminated in a sacrificial act, relinquishing his life force to liberate Kayura from Arago's corruption. Post-redemption, he adopted a monk's lifestyle, wielding a Shakujo staff for protection and spiritual focus, dedicating himself to self-improvement, reading, and writing.

Physically, he appeared as a red-haired young adult with blue-green eyes, standing 173 cm tall. His birthday was May 5, and he disliked beans. The name "Shuten Douji" (meaning "drunkard child" or "red sky child") references Japanese folklore, though his character diverges from the myth's villainous depiction.
