Description
Scorpio, also known as Arago, is a primary antagonist originating from Japan's Heian Period, between 794 and 1185 CE. Amidst intense warfare, he developed a philosophy that only the strong survive and dominate, fueling a profound desire for power. This ambition drew the attention of the Youja World, which granted him the means to pursue his goals.
The leader of the Jiryouchou, Badamon, forged a powerful armor for Arago, designed to rival the strength of the Kikoutei armor. This armor became a physical manifestation of his energy and malevolent desires. Arago attempted to conquer the human world by opening a Youja Gate in Heian-kyo, modern-day Kyoto, but was defeated by the warrior Kaos. Following his defeat, Kaos broke Arago's armor into nine separate pieces through a fire ceremony of Buddhist or Shinto origin. Only his helmet remained, containing his hatred, while his spirit was sealed within the Youja World.
The Youja World, originally a realm for cleansing souls of grudges and unfinished longings, became Arago's prison. His intense evil and thirst for conquest allowed him to persist and grow in power over centuries. His goal remained to return to Earth and complete his domination. The rise of widespread evil thoughts and feelings among humanity, which empower the Youja, eventually enabled Arago's resurrection in a smoke-like form, often appearing as a giant, transparent floating helmet.
In his second invasion attempt, Arago dispatched his subordinates, the four Masho, and an army of Youja soldiers to conquer the human world. Although he reunited all the pieces of his armor, he failed to fully escape the Youja World. The combined efforts of the Samurai Troopers and Kayura, wielding the power of Kaos, secured his defeat. This confrontation shattered Arago, with the intention of permanently destroying his lingering spirit.
The nine armors created from Arago's original armor were imbued by Kaos with specific virtues and entrusted to nine powerful Japanese families for protection. These armors were elemental and seasonal or spiritual in nature, stored in small crystalline orbs called Kokoro no Tama when not in use. The armors could be summoned by their wearers, transforming from pure energy into solid form, with power directly tied to the wearer's faith and inner strength.
Arago's legacy is deeply connected to these armors and his enduring influence from the Youja World. His character embodies the theme that evil arises from the darkness within the human heart, and his repeated attempts to conquer the human world reflect a perpetual struggle between that darkness and the virtues represented by the armors.
