Description
Xiu Lihuang descends from a Chinese family that immigrated to Japan during the Ching Dynasty. His father, Chanrun, oversees their thriving Chinese restaurant chain in Yokohama's Chinatown. As eldest among five siblings—Rinfi, Yun, Meiryu, and Chunfa—he habitually yielded to younger family members, developing tendencies like food pilfering. Trained from childhood in Chinese kung fu by his mother, a martial arts master, he wields the violent-natured Armor of Hardrock (Kongō no Yoroi). This orange and brown earth-element armor embodies "Gi" (Justice) and is summoned by his declaration "Armor of Hardrock, Tao-Gi" (Busō, Kongō). His primary weapon merges a three-section staff with a naginata, adaptable for nunchaku-style combat, while his Iron Rock Crusher (Gantetsusai) finishing technique unleashes earthquake-like seismic disruptions.

Initially hot-tempered and stubborn, he relied on brute strength, rushing into conflicts like his manipulated assault on ally Sage Date under warlord Dais’s influence. This impulsiveness hampered tactical judgment. Training at Mt. Aso (Mt. Daisetsu) under the Ancient One tempered his approach, teaching focus over sheer force during clashes with Dais and the Sand Strikers. Though battle eagerness lingered, he evolved into a more controlled warrior.

During Talpa's Dynasty conflict, he was transported to the Throne of the Gods, facing near-death before rescue. He later defeated Dais in Sendai, piercing the warlord’s illusions after accidentally wounding Sage. In the Nether Realm invasion, he sacrificed himself as a distraction for Dais, enabling Rowen Hashiba’s escape. Captured and drained of power alongside Sage and Cye Mori, he aided Talpa’s defeat after liberation. His armor’s capabilities expanded in later media, including an unspecified new suit in the "Message" OVA.

Depicted with dark blue/ash purple hair and blue eyes, he often wears a golden headband and yellow clothing. His armor features brown and white accents. He enjoys judo, kung fu, rugby, arm wrestling, mountain climbing, and Tai Chi Gen, frequently discussing food while disliking devil’s tongue and swallow’s nest dishes. In "Gaiden," he used lottery winnings to host Ryo Sanada’s birthday celebration. Later, in New York, he investigated Sage’s disappearance and battled a corrupted Armor of Halo, sustaining injuries in the fight.
