Her first assignment required her to act as bait to lure a dangerous entity called the demon doctor, allowing Ayaka to confront and eliminate it. After the demon was exorcised from its host within an operating room, it targeted Nanami. This high-stress situation triggered a latent pyrokinetic ability: Nanami involuntarily unleashed powerful flames throughout the room, completely incinerating the demon.

This event revealed Nanami's capacity to convert her own psychic energy into fire. Ayaka encountered her while her power was still in an early, untrained stage. Consequently, Nanami lacks consistent control over this pyrokinetic ability. Her flames manifest involuntarily, especially when she experiences fear, surprise, or intense stress, often erupting in large, sudden bursts. This makes her power both potent and unpredictable.
