Description
Yamamoto Yohko is a 15-year-old high school student from 1999 AD. Her exceptional talent in arcade space flight simulation games grants her natural piloting skills for advanced starships. TERRA engineer Curtis Lawson recruits her after traveling back in time, seeking candidates with superior reflexes absent in his era due to deteriorated reaction times; she is the first person he encounters in 1999.

Athletic, confident, and occasionally arrogant, Yohko possesses a strong passion for gaming. This obsession extends to her starship's operation system, requiring a 100-yen coin insertion into an arcade-like slot to activate the prototype Super Strike TA-29. She frequently consumes Pocky snacks. An initial accident aboard the TA-29 causes memory loss, returning her to 1999 unaware of her TERRA experiences. These memories resurface during her first space battle upon rejoining TERRA, restoring her full pilot capabilities.

As TERRA's lead pilot commanding the TA-29 equipped with the Everblack Cannon, Yohko recruits her childhood friend Ayano Elizabeth Hakuhouin after recognizing her latent potential, forming a complete four-pilot team. She develops a fierce rivalry with Rouge, leader of the opposing NESS faction's elite "Red Snappers" squadron, extending beyond combat to romantic competition for NESS commander Fluger's attention. Her tactical prowess secures significant TERRA victories, though demoralizing defeats against the Red Snappers temporarily shake her confidence. Ayano's threat of defection ultimately motivates her return to combat.

Key developments include confronting Yohsuke Yamamoto, a male-presenting clone created from her genetic material using the Old Timer's Inheritance technology, who initially appears as a student in her 1999 classroom. Their conflict culminates in a starship duel where Yohko exploits Yohsuke's resource mismanagement to secure victory. This defeat triggers Yohsuke's physical transformation into a man and separates the Old Timer's Inheritance from his body.

Further challenges arise when the Old Timer's Inheritance possesses Ayano, forcing Yohko to choose between destroying her friend or finding an alternative. She successfully defeats Ayano without lethal force, freeing her from the entity's control. Later, when the entity possesses teammate Madoka Midou, Yohko counters by demonstrating the superiority of Lawson's technology over the unstable Old Timer's Chronos system through tactical ingenuity.

Yohko has brown hair cut to neck length, green eyes, and a typical teenage physique. She often wears midriff-baring clothing and uses fingerless gloves while piloting.
