Emerging from his thunder cloud home, Pikkari-B descended to Earth where schoolboy Pontaro discovered him. Initially mistaken for a monster and abandoned, Pikkari-B persistently followed Pontaro home. He won over Pontaro's grandmother by thwarting a robbery against her, leading to his formal adoption into their family.

Pikkari-B wields unique thunder cloud abilities. He absorbs water to expand his form and reshape his cloud matter into functional objects. A signature power induces uncontrollable laughter by making flowers sprout from people's bellybuttons, though this fails against bellybutton-less entities like birds.

His primary mission involves thwarting antagonists: the versatile ninja Zero Zero Goemon, who steals or sells robots, and Gaponeko, the feline bully whose gang steals food. Pikkari-B consistently disrupts their schemes using his thunder cloud powers. He integrates into Pontaro's friend circle, the "Wanpaku Six" ("Mischievous Six"), comprising the stubborn leader Gonta, combative tomboy Gamiko, overweight food enthusiast Kenshoku, meticulously dressed Karudan, and math prodigy Reji (who carries an abacus). Pikkari-B's adventures and dynamic with this group unfold within the original television series.
