TV-Series
Description
Babbit is a white-furred hybrid of rabbit and bat, featuring a large head, long rabbit ears, blue bat wings, and a distinctive pink heart on his chest; his eyes sometimes appear green, especially when surprised. Created exclusively for the anime, he serves as the series mascot and narrative device, appearing only once on a manga volume cover as an anime reference.

He bounds through the narrative providing direct commentary on events and characters, frequently breaking the fourth wall to address the audience. Babbit announces episode titles, presents weekly photos of protagonist Sana, and appears on props like Sana's Burutcha Buzzer. Multiple versions, often in situation-specific costumes, manifest simultaneously within episodes. These manifestations interact with characters or observe actions, though the main cast typically ignores or dismisses his remarks. Akito Hayama occasionally responds physically, like with a karate chop.

Personality-wise, Babbit consistently aims for lightheartedness through comedic, nonsensical, or teasing remarks, particularly directed at Akito, though often met with indifference. He exhibits emotional vulnerability, becoming deeply depressed and humorless after Take's death, revealing his awareness and investment in the series' events. Despite frequent dismissal or physical rebuffs, he persistently appears to offer explanations, recaps, and observations throughout the anime run, maintaining his established role as a comic-relief commentator confined to the adaptation.
