Description
Created by Organ Symphony approximately five thousand years before the events depicted, Drum is one of three android sisters designed to protect the heroic lineage of Lamuness. Her physical form resembles a fourteen-year-old Olympic swimmer, reflecting specialized aquatic capabilities. Alongside sisters Trumpet and Cello, she remained dormant until awakened by the descendant hero Lamunade.
Drum's core abilities center on water manipulation using built-in tanks that store and generate water for combat. She employs this water to fire pressurized blasts from forearm-mounted gauntlets, form disc-like projectiles, create propulsion for flight, and execute high-speed drilling attacks. Enhanced strength, durability, and sonar-based hearing for underwater detection complement her powers. She wields a golden trident as her primary weapon, capable of deflecting energy attacks and channeling electrical bursts.
Personality-wise, Drum exhibits consistent optimism and friendliness, forming quick bonds with allies. She displays loyalty to her creator and sisters, though her innate free-spirited nature leads her to question directives and seek purpose beyond combat. This culminates in defecting to join the protagonists after recognizing the corrupt motives of her creators' allies. Her relationships include a mentorship with the fire-wielding Agnes and close camaraderie with Lorelai, both centered on refining their respective elemental abilities.
In the OVA sequel "VS Knight Ramune & 40 Fresh," a distinct android named Electone exists as a direct copy of Drum. Mounted within the private quarters of the antagonist Ramunes IV, Electone acts as his assistant and lover. Her character arc involves conflicted loyalty—enforcing Ramunes' orders while harboring jealousy toward Cacao. Upon discovering Ramunes IV is an impostor, Electone kills the informant Don Vodka in denial. Her storyline concludes when, after Ramunes dies attempting to control the Dark Knight mecha, Electone reactivates it in a grief-fueled rampage before being destroyed during the protagonists' counterattack.
