Keruru, a Barbary lion cub, lives on Marody's Cliff with his grandfather Marody and brother Amuji. He and Amuji frequently challenge Leo over territorial boundaries, questioning Leo's presence on their grandfather's land and escalating tensions until Marody intervenes. Keruru smolders with envy toward Leo, convinced that Leo garners more admiration and respect from Marody. This resentment fuels his pride-driven nature and impulsive aggression over strategic thought. His recklessness leads to fatal consequences for several pride members during the conflict in "Decision," causing Keruru to choose exile. Following this, his vengeful hunts against humans repeatedly place him in peril, requiring repeated rescues by Leo. His arc explores jealousy, the repercussions of unchecked aggression, and the mounting costs of his choices. The absence of his parents suggests they may have fallen to poachers targeting Barbary lions. Physically, Keruru and Amuji share distinctive charcoal, grey, or black pelts with brown manes, appearing older than Leo due to their fuller, more developed manes. Before "Decision," Keruru and Amuji are consistently shown together, reflecting a close bond that fractures as Keruru's path diverges.
