Description
Eddie Schmidt began his career as a cybernetics researcher at the Biotechno Corporation under Boris Daigo before being recruited by the Defense Department to continue his government research. During this period, he assisted Dr. Tani on multiple cyborg projects, including the development of 8 Man. Schmidt eventually vanished from his post, taking numerous sensitive research files with him.

After his disappearance, Schmidt used the stolen data to transform himself into a disembodied brain preserved in a jar, which he integrated into an advanced computer system. In this biocomputer form, he stored all the cybernetic research within his system and gained control over the complex machinery in Tony Gleck's secret hideout.

From this position, Schmidt maintained and upgraded the cyborg Tony Gleck, repeatedly refitting him with new components to counteract damage caused by Cybomechamine. He also complied with Tony's request to convert Boris Daigo into a cyborg. Schmidt proposed capturing 8 Man to repurpose his cyborg brain for their use, though the plan was never executed. He was ultimately destroyed when Sam O'Connor threw Tony Gleck into the computer system, resulting in the annihilation of the entire apparatus.

Schmidt disclosed that the electronic brain of the new 8 Man, Hazama Itsuru, retained traces of the original 8 Man’s consciousness, Hachiro Azuma. He stated that Azuma's essence had been erased from the cyborg brain's memory to accommodate Hazama, though the methods of capture or erasure were not detailed.
