Description
Hide Maejima presides as student council president at Ōgyoku High School, embodying a fierce rivalry with Kin'gyoku High's Shizune Mejiro. This antagonism, fueled by a generations-long conflict between their powerful families battling for influence across Japan, spills directly into the school arena.

Maejima harbors unrequited feelings for Mai Ookubo, granddaughter of Kin'gyoku's headmistress, prompting him to write her a love letter. Kabamaru Igano and Kaoru Nanokusa discover this letter during an infiltration of Ōgyoku's dorms. When Kabamaru attacks Maejima afterward, the letter is accidentally left behind in the office of Ōgyoku's headmistress, Sū Matsuno. Matsuno mistakes the letter as meant for her and invites Maejima on a date. He blames this humiliation squarely on Kabamaru, igniting bitter hatred.

Convinced Kabamaru masterminded both the dorm infiltration and the letter mishap to mock him, Maejima retaliates. Disguising himself, he attacks Kabamaru with a bat but inadvertently strikes Shizune instead. To defend against future attacks, he begins training Ōgyoku students in martial arts to serve as his bodyguards. His tactics escalate: seizing control over other schools' student councils, forming "assault squads," and recruiting criminal gangs to advance his goals.

Maejima actively schemes to dissolve the Kantō Elite School Union, aiming to expel Kin'gyoku and establish a new union under Ōgyoku's dominance. When the Kin'gyoku baseball captain approaches him to restart an inter-school championship, Maejima misidentifies the captain as a spy and orders a severe beating, further intensifying hostilities. His rivalry with Shizune culminates in a motorbike race, driven partly by jealousy upon recognizing Mai's affection for her. Kabamaru secretly sabotages Maejima's attempts to cheat during the race, securing Shizune's victory.

Maejima's character embodies how familial conflict extends into academic rivalry, driving significant antagonism between the schools through calculated manipulation and progressively aggressive actions.
