Description
Schwartz Koff features in multiple official Getter Robo continuities with distinct portrayals. In *Getter Robo Armageddon*, he is Major Schwartz, commander of the Tower Attack Force and pilot of a Stilva robot. This version draws directly from the *Getter Robo Go* manga character. Motivated by the deaths of his lover and a close friend at the hands of the Invaders, he dedicates himself to fighting extraterrestrial threats. Initially difficult and abrasive, he ultimately accepts the Getter Team as comrades in arms, recognizing their shared purpose despite personal friction.

Within the *Getter Robo Go* manga and related media like *Getter Robo: Daikessen!*, Schwartz Koff is an American soldier of German descent serving in the Allied Robot Corps. He co-pilots the Stilva α04 with John Lambert. His background includes deep-seated prejudice against Japanese people, stemming from his grandfather's death at Pearl Harbor and his father's automotive company being outsold by Japanese competitors. This racism fuels open hostility toward the Getter Team and scornful attitudes toward women.

His character undergoes significant development during the *Getter Robo Go* Alaska campaign. After initially refusing to aid the Getter Team due to his biases, Lambert forces his involvement. Later, trapped under rubble during a base attack, he is rescued by Japanese female pilot Sho Tachibana. This act challenges his prejudices, leading him to thank Sho and begin reassessing his views. He later allows Sho to co-pilot the Stilva following Lambert's injury, marking a clear shift. During a critical battle against Metal Beasts, aid from Go Ichimonji further transforms his hostility into a competitive rivalry with the Getter Team pilots. His relationship with Sho deepens into romantic feelings.

In the climax of the *Go* manga, Schwartz participates in a kamikaze attack with Lambert against the Turtle Dragon to create an opening for the Texas Battleship. He survives unconscious and is rescued by Sho before the Turtle Dragon's destruction. Afterwards, he pilots a bomber jet against remaining Vega Zone forces with Sho as his new co-pilot, noting emerging threats from the Dinosaur Empire, signifying his full integration into cooperative efforts with former adversaries.

His appearance in *Getter Robo: Daikessen!* retains his role as a Stilva co-pilot within the Allied Robot Corps, featuring the special ability "Adversity" during gameplay, aligning with his *Go* manga iteration without significant new developments.
