Description
Aki Ichikawa is an agent of the Tokken Special Investigations Division, tasked with combating paranormal phenomena and occult-related crime. Her duties center on research and intelligence gathering to aid investigations, reporting to colleagues Kurumi Imari and Toru Yuge.
She possesses long violet hair, striking natural red eyes, and wears the Tokken uniform for work. Off-duty attire includes a red top, brown jacket, dark green skirt, purple heels, a small gold necklace with pendant, and gold pearl-shaped earrings. Her red clothing and eye color connect her to the occult prophecy of the "woman in red" or "Scarlet Woman" from Aleister Crowley's writings.
Intelligent and dedicated to her research, Aki can also be absentminded, sometimes forgetting tasks or falling asleep during work. She exhibits high spirits and courage, notably attempting to physically confront an outmatched bank robber leader. Her personality maintains an innocent, friendly demeanor, with her virginity prior to key events being a plot-relevant trait.
Her investigation into a series of murders—male victims carbonized except for genitals, female victims showing no external injuries—leads to a bank hostage situation. Occultist robbers force hostages into non-consensual sexual acts. During this, Imari becomes possessed by the witch Reika Kitami. Later, Imari/Kitami betrays Aki in an academy basement. Restrained on a stone altar, Aki undergoes a ritual where the Spear of Longinus is inserted into her body, fulfilling her role as the prophesied vessel for demonic power.
Hospitalized after the ritual, she suffers further violence. Academy vice-principal Takeshi Oshima, under demonic influence, violates her and attempts to surgically remove the spear tip from her abdomen with a knife. This injury activates a supernatural healing factor granted by the spear, sealing her wound without medical aid. Police investigator Naoto Yamanishi, initially appearing as a rescuer, later strangles her with his belt in another assault attempt; an unexplained barrier prevents further violation.
In the climax, she is returned to the academy basement for a final ritual overseen by Kitami and Jody Crowley (granddaughter of Aleister Crowley). Shackled and surrounded by participants in an orgy, she endures repeated attempts to penetrate her protective barrier. The spear tip emerges from her abdomen, enabling Tokken chief Toru Yuge to break the seal on the Bible Black tome and defeat the witches. An epilogue confirms her survival as she resumes work with Imari; a brief glimpse of Kitami's face on her laptop screen implies the witch's influence may persist.
Key supernatural attributes include the regenerative healing activated after abdominal trauma and the protective barrier deflecting violation attempts, both directly tied to the Spear of Longinus embedded within her.
