Description
The character labeled "Yakuza" involves two key figures in the conflict at Myon's family yakitori restaurant.

Atsu, a volatile yakuza enforcer, seeks vengeance against Myon's father for his stolen girlfriend. During the confrontation, he presses a gun to Myon's temple, knocks out her fiancé Ryo, and attempts to rape her. He shoots Nishi in the anus when threatened, an act of reckless violence that prompts his own execution by his senior partner for losing control.

The senior yakuza, addressed as "Aniki," accompanies Atsu. Initially appearing disciplined, he kills Atsu for his lack of restraint. Flashbacks reveal he was the first boyfriend of Myon and Yan's mother, losing her to their father during a youthful disco encounter—a personal history motivating his involvement. His father is later discovered as the old man trapped for over 30 years inside the whale following a past yakuza conflict.

After Nishi's death, Aniki casually orders dinner at the restaurant, detached from the violence. He later directs the chase against Nishi, Myon, and Yan after their escape in the yakuza car. His men force their car off a bridge, leading to their ingestion by the whale.

These yakuza figures act as catalysts, propelling the protagonists' journey. Their actions directly cause Nishi's death and rebirth, the escape, and the entrapment inside the whale. Their backgrounds contextualize their motivations within these events.
