Description
Samurai Calibur, also known as Calibur, supports the Hyper Agent Gridman as part of the Neon Genesis Junior High Students. He transforms into the Assist Weapon Gridman Calibur, designated the "Electrifying Great Sword." In human form, he appears as a hunchbacked individual with medium-length black hair partially covering his face, blue eyes, and stubble. He typically wears a gray shirt, black tie, black pants, and a jacket featuring a distinctive purplish mark on the left shoulder. He carries four katana blades on his back, having initially possessed five.

Arriving in Tsutsujidai, Calibur intervened to save Hime Kudzuki from a falling truck, an event granting her the ability to perceive hidden monsters. During a later kaiju attack at a cafe, he entrusted one of his five swords to Hime, enabling her transformation via the Samurai Barrier Gear smartphone app. This act linked their duties, and they encountered a mysterious girl observing them, prompting further investigation. Within the main series, Calibur monitored Yuta Hibiki after his public appearance with amnesia and witnessed Ghoulghilas attack their school. He later optimized the Junk computer to enhance Gridman's capabilities and assisted the Gridman Alliance in investigating disappearances. In battle, he transforms into Gridman Calibur by shouting his Access Code, providing critical support against threats like Dévadadan and Anti.

Calibur displays social awkwardness and a lack of awareness regarding social norms, often bumping into doors due to his swords or traversing rooftops. He exhibits a stutter at the start of sentences, though this diminishes during serious moments. Despite his quirks, he shows deep consideration, such as offering tea to Rikka Takarada upon learning she avoids carbonated drinks and listening to her concerns. He exhibits particular interest in redeeming Anti, advocating for non-aggressive approaches even when his peers favored force.

His abilities include superhuman physiology, enabling feats like carrying multiple people while leaping across buildings, slicing steel beams, and enduring prolonged combat. He is a master swordsman, wielding his four combined blades—Samurai Calibur Blade Swords—to overpower opponents like Anti. The blades shift into black, serrated forms when unsheathed and cut through solid materials. He also possesses computer skills, contributing to Junk's maintenance and upgrades. As the Assist Weapon Gridman Calibur, it operates in Blade Mode by default, capable of flight and beam blocking. When wielded by Full Powered Gridman, it executes the Grid Calibur End—a dimensional entrapment followed by a thrust-assisted slash. The weapon adapts: becoming the Powered Axe for Powered Zenon to deliver the Jumbo Saber Slash, and shifting to Gridknight Calibur for Gridknight, enabling the reverse-grip Knight Calibur End.

Calibur's development involved nuanced interactions with Anti, whom he dissuaded from targeting Yuta and engaged in philosophical discussions about purpose. After besting Anti in combat, he challenged him to reconsider his goals. In the finale, his integration via an Acceptor helped awaken Gridman's true form for the final battle, after which he departed for the Hyper World. His known traits include a stutter, forgetfulness about his sword length, and a fondness for cats, including a stated willingness to adopt abandoned ones. His jacket's brooch references the Dinobot Slug from *Transformers Age of Extinction*.
