Description
Hayato Hayasugi, an 11-year-old railway enthusiast from Ōmiya, Saitama Prefecture, channels his profound passion for Shinkansen trains into piloting advanced mecha. Inspired by his father Hokuto—lead developer of the Shinkalion Project and director of the Ōmiya Branch’s Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute—he communicates almost exclusively in railway terminology, challenging peers to match his specialized lexicon. Initially commanding the core-combining Shinkalion E5 Hayabusa, he later upgrades to the E5 Hayabusa MkII, distinguished by golden accents, twin-barreled chest blasters, and a radiant pink katana.

Combining unwavering determination with cheerful loyalty, Hayato fiercely defends others’ convictions and unites his team through shared purpose. Though initially awkward in non-railway social contexts, he evolves into a strategic leader and adept combatant. His bonds include a steadfast friendship with Azusa Ueda, a non-pilot ally, and tactical synergy with teammates Akita Oga and Tsuranuki Daimonyama, whose ranged and close-combat skills offset his own.

In *Mirai Kara Shinsoku no ALFA-X*, post-victory over the Kitoralsus, Hayato confronts extraterrestrial invaders led by Nahane and Ohanefu. The crisis intertwines his fate with a time-displaced nine-year-old Hokuto piloting the prototype ALFA-X, uniting all Ultra Evolution Institute branches. Hayato adapts seamlessly to this alliance-driven warfare, reinforcing his role as a collaborative defender.

Anchored by a close-knit family—younger sister Haruka, mother Sakura, and his futurist father—his growth is marked by moments like his 11th birthday, where teammates gift a train schedule book, decoding his railway-centric worldview. By *Shinkalion Z*, he mentors new pilots, balancing his legacy as a frontline hero with enduring commitments to teamwork and resilience.
