Movie
Description
Yuri Sasagawa is a news announcer for Akasaka TV, passionately covering the Mobile Rescue Police and their Drive Head units, coining the name "Team Drive Head." She maintains unwavering enthusiasm for their missions, especially admiring Sonic Interceptor and its upgraded Cyclone Interceptor. Her energetic and dedicated reporting style often places her directly at disaster scenes for firsthand coverage. She hosts programs including "Drive Head Line" and a zodiac-themed fortune segment. Personal connections to her predictions occur, such as attributing her survival during a Ferris wheel accident to her Virgo lucky item: a crepe.

Yuri possesses remarkably sharp intuition, sensing hidden motives behind disasters and correctly suspecting external forces like the Evil AI during city-wide malfunctions. Initially viewing Dr. Karigari as a criminal threat, her perspective shifts after he saves her from a cliff fall, revealing he follows her fortune segments. Their relationship evolves into mutual trust, highlighted when he entrusts her with a virus-containing chip to aid against the Evil AI. She delivers this chip to the Mobile Rescue Police and later investigates Karigari's whereabouts when the chip's purpose becomes unclear, demonstrating commitment to justice beyond reporting.

During the Evil AI arc, she investigates the proliferation of the "Ark" symbol and rejects colleagues' assumptions about Karigari's involvement. After Karigari sacrifices himself to seal the Evil AI in the Tower of Babel, she mourns at the ruins, believing him dead. Her relief is evident when he later contacts her via email, confirming his survival—a secret she keeps for months. In the web series, she appears during Tomikawa Castle's relocation, expressing concern when Drive Heads nearly get crushed.

In the movie, she covers a methane hydrate facility fire and observes Drive Head malfunctions, noting Cyclone Interceptor's diminished appeal during their absence. When the S.I.B. Max turns hostile under Terra's control, she reports on the battle with visible distress, regaining hope upon seeing Cyclone Interceptor's new Force Field Mode during the final rescue. Her character extends into live-action tie-ins like "Drive Head News Channel," where she interacts with fictional Mobile Rescue Police staff and promotes in-universe events.
