Description
Furanui, also called Rafunui, holds the position of second Prince of Honyaraland (or Honyala Land). He is the younger brother of Prince Karls (alternatively known as Kalulus de Yutari Honyalala). Their father, King Kamopapa, dispatched both princes to Earth to learn effective kingship through direct experience. While Karls focuses on spreading happiness, Furanui champions fear and control as the most efficient and sustainable path to rule. This fundamental disagreement fuels their conflict.

Furanui's natural form is that of a light blue fennec fox with aquamarine eyes and unique blue-and-white facial markings. He can transform into a human guise featuring dark skin, long seafoam-green hair typically in a ponytail, and aquamarine eyes. In this form, he wears Arab-inspired attire exposing his abdomen, complemented by a brown headband and large blue earrings. However, Furanui strongly prefers his fennec fox form and is often seen perched on his chosen knights' shoulders.

Cynical and serious, Furanui stands in stark contrast to Karls' cheerfulness. Driven by his belief in fear-based rule, he actively seeks to dominate Earth to prove his worth as a future king, especially significant since the succession is open despite Karls being the elder brother. His methods involve identifying humans filled with envy or hatred, transforming them into monsters to sow discord. He recruits Binan High School student council members—Ata Ibusuki, Taiju Unazuki, and Maasa Shirahone—as his dark Edelstein Knights. He empowers them with shared magic and outfits them in black-and-blue attire signifying their allegiance. Their dynamic shows occasional flexibility in his stern approach, as he permits or overlooks their earthly indulgences, like Maasa's cookie-baking.

Notably, Furanui displays unexpected fondness for specific Earthly things: strawberries, homemade cookies (especially Maasa's), and hobbies including insect collecting and digging. These interests suggest appreciation beyond his rigid worldview.

Furanui's character shifts when King Kamopapa faces a threat during Ata's aggression against Kyotaro. He reacts with uncharacteristic fear and anger, revealing genuine concern for his father. He mobilizes the Edelstein Knights to follow Karls and the Happy Knights through a portal to Honyaraland, declaring his intent to lead the rescue. This moment demonstrates emotional investment in his family, diverging from his detached philosophy. Yet, he maintains his rivalry with Karls over their opposing governance ideologies.

The potential for Furanui's ascension to Honyaraland's throne remains unresolved, with his Earth experiences serving as the testing ground for his beliefs in fear-based rule.
