Description
Elias Brandt Dale Raeven stands tall and thin, his slicked-back blonde hair, pale-white skin, and narrow blue eyes creating a snake-like impression. His noble status is evident in intricate, jewel-adorned clothing woven from high-quality fur and golden threads. Initially driven by cold-hearted ambition, he abandoned throne-seeking aspirations after his son Rii-tan's birth, becoming intensely devoted to his family. Privately, he dotes on Rii-tan, shedding his cold public persona. Publicly, he feigned opportunism by shifting between the Re-Estize Kingdom's Royalty and Nobility factions while secretly leading the Royalty Faction to prevent the kingdom's collapse. This earned him the moniker "bat" for perceived indecisiveness.

As one of six great nobles, Elias wielded influence through intellect and connections. He participated in military planning at Ro-Lente Castle for the Katze Plains conflict and collaborated with Prince Zanac and Princess Renner against threats like Eight Fingers and Jaldabaoth's demon invasion. During the Katze Plains Massacre, he commanded the Royal Army but ordered a retreat upon witnessing Ainz Ooal Gown's forces. Pursued by a Dark Young, he escaped after adventurer bodyguards sacrificed themselves. The trauma prompted his withdrawal from politics to his territory.

The Sorcerer Kingdom later coerced Elias into betrayal by threatening Rii-tan. To protect his family, he suppressed invasion alerts, blocking reinforcements and escape routes during the Sorcerer Kingdom's assault on Re-Estize, hastening its fall at the Battle of E-Naeurl. Princess Renner speculated his actions stemmed from blackmail involving his son or pragmatic acceptance of the kingdom's inevitable defeat. After the capital's destruction, Elias and allied nobles pledged loyalty to Ainz Ooal Gown. During their audience, he advised prioritizing rebuilding and children's welfare under the new regime, later overseeing noble hostage deliveries to the Sorcerer Kingdom.

His commoner strategist, elevated for tactical skill, aided him during the Katze Plains conflict. The strategist's death there deepened Elias's psychological retreat. His marriage evolved from loveless to genuine after Rii-tan's birth, with his wife tempering his spoiling of their son. Renner once proposed Rii-tan's betrothal to conceal her illegitimate child, though this dissolved after her defection.
