TV-Series
Description
Rio Kuroki exists in multiple forms: his human identity, the fairy Pikario, and the former villain Julio. Initially, he trained in Paris alongside his fraternal twin sister, Kirahoshi Ciel (Kirarin), to become a professional patissier under Jean-Pierre Zylberstein. Unable to match Kirarin's skills, deep despair over his perceived inadequacy consumed him. In this vulnerable state, the antagonist Noir corrupted him, extracting his Kirakiraru (positive energy residing in sweets) and transforming him into the masked Julio, granting him a dark staff. This transformation altered his appearance to short dark blue hair, a golden mask obscuring his eyes, and a dark grey suit with a cape.

As Julio, he displayed a cynical and callous personality, conducting experiments to steal Kirakiraru using his staff. He manipulated the Kirakiraru Thieves and infiltrated Ichigozaka Middle School as a transfer student to target the protagonists. Resentment festered toward Kirarin for perceived neglect and criticism, causing him to reject her initial offers of forgiveness after purification. Despite his antagonism, he showed lingering care for his sister, notably sympathizing with Usami Ichika due to shared experiences of familial separation.

Julio met defeat when Cure Whip and the Pretty Cures shattered his mask and staff with "Three・2・Wonderful A La Mode." Temporarily restored to his fairy form Pikario, he remained distant from Kirarin initially. His redemption crystallized when he shielded Ciel (Kirarin's human form) from Noir’s attack during her transformation into Cure Parfait. He created unburnt waffles imbued with sincere Kirakiraru, shattering Ciel’s self-doubt and enabling her to complete her "Animal Sweet." This sacrifice gravely injured him, causing dissipation into Kirakiraru fragments.

After resting at Lumière’s shrine on Ichigoyama, Rio revived with new powers granted by Cure Lumière. He aided the Cures against Grave and Elisio, holding off enemies even after his staff shattered again. Post-revival, he fully reconciled with Ciel and apologized for his actions as Julio, though her outward affection easily embarrassed him. The series epilogue shows them co-owning a patisserie, symbolizing their restored bond and shared passion for creating happiness through sweets.

His fairy form, Pikario, resembles Kirarin but features cyan ears, hair, and tail, plus a blueberry-themed accessory. Julio's purified form included white attire, fairy-like wings, and a waffle-patterned staff. His human identity, Rio Kuroki, possesses long sky-blue hair and typically wears light blue patisserie-inspired clothing.
