TV Special
Description
Jyushimatsu Matsuno is the fifth-born son of the Matsuno sextuplets. His name originates from "jyushimatsu," the Japanese term for the Bengalese finch, though his kanji incorporates "pine" and the number fourteen, aligning with the brothers' numerical naming convention. Early media inconsistently depicted his birth order, occasionally presenting him as the youngest, but recent works establish him as the second-youngest.

As a child, Jyushimatsu appeared quieter and gentler than his siblings, avoiding rough play and crying easily. Despite this, he engaged in mischief like digging pitfalls or adding dandruff to shaved ice. His thoughtful obedience made him gullible and susceptible to manipulation. He sometimes expressed insecurity over his indistinct identity among the sextuplets, feeling his presence was the weakest. Childhood interactions frequently paired him with Ichimatsu, sharing shyness and collaborating on activities like spying. He also enjoyed lighter pastimes with Todomatsu, such as model airplane building, reflecting their mutual sensitivity. Jyushimatsu admired Osomatsu deeply and wept when Osomatsu was temporarily adopted, revealing his tenderheartedness. Early media assigned him purple as a theme color, though promotional variations occasionally used green.

During adolescence (ages 16–18), Jyushimatsu adopted a delinquent persona to stand out, featuring perpetually narrowed eyes, a bitter expression, pretended smoking of invisible cigarettes, a sloppily worn uniform, and exposed buttocks. This facade masked his inherently cheerful and whimsical nature, which resurged fully after graduation. His adult identity solidified through interactions with this past self.

In adulthood, Jyushimatsu emerges as the most energetically childlike and eccentric brother. He exudes constant happiness and excitability, rarely serious, with an open-mouthed smile, visible tongue, and a single cowlick. He typically wears a yellow hoodie with stretched sleeves, blue swim shorts, and white socks. His spontaneous reality-warping acts—like self-multiplication or sudden muscle growth—earn him the label "nuclear warhead" for his abnormal brightness and stupidity. Despite chaos, he displays kindness, such as helping Ichimatsu locate ESP Kitty. Yet he becomes dangerously unpredictable when angered by cold or stressors, acting on internal logic. Annually, he waits for Santa Claus to capture and tie him up, showcasing mischief. Jyushimatsu keenly perceives others' views of him and sometimes exploits this, avoiding chores or manipulating situations for candy. He observes emotions, particularly Ichimatsu's unspoken ones, and lightens tension. Rarely judging his brothers, he matches their energy conflict-free, though later seasons show him occasionally critiquing their flaws.

Relationships highlight his adaptability. He shares a strong bond with Ichimatsu, frequently checking on him and joining his activities. With Karamatsu, he tolerates painful behavior without mockery but remains pragmatic. Baseball obsession defines him; in one episode, he practiced batting over 6,000 times near a cliff, encountering a suicidal woman. Over a month, he connected with her, demonstrating empathy and determination to make her smile. She returned home, later reappearing as a dolphin trainer who aided his dream of becoming a dolphin.

In the horse-racing special "Ouma de Kobanashi," Jyushimatsu participates in the brothers' equine antics without unique individual developments detailed.
