Handsome (Japanese: ハンサム), codenamed Looker, serves as an International Police officer appearing across multiple Pokémon media. His documented activities span core series games and animated features.
In Pokémon Platinum, he investigates Team Galactic covertly in Sinnoh. Looker employs disguises, including posing as a Team Galactic Grunt or environmental objects like a breakable rock, to gather intelligence. He collaborates with the player to thwart Cyrus and later pursues Charon at Stark Mountain, utilizing his Croagunk to secure the Magma Stone.
During Pokémon Black and White, he tracks the Seven Sages of Team Plasma following their leader's defeat. Looker first encounters the player disguised as their mother, then recruits them to locate and capture the sages, providing a Super Rod.
His role expands in Pokémon X and Y, where he operates undercover in Kalos to arrest Xerosic. Posing as a detective, he recruits the player as an assistant and takes in Emma, a homeless girl, and her Espurr, Mimi. Emma is later manipulated by Xerosic into wearing the Essentia suit, forcing her into crime. Looker intervenes to free her from the suit's control and arrests Xerosic. Before departing Kalos, he reveals his true identity as an International Police officer to Emma via letter and transfers his codename to the player. A photograph in his bureau hints at the loss of his Croagunk in an unspecified prior case.
Looker appears with amnesia in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, washed ashore at the Battle Resort. He gives the player an Audinite while struggling to recall his identity.
In Pokémon Sun and Moon, he returns with his superior, Anabel, post-championship to investigate Ultra Beasts. He reveals past trauma from a mission ten years prior: serving on a three-person team with Nanu and an unnamed Faller. During a Guzzlord pursuit, his hesitation contributed to the Faller's death, as Ultra Beasts are drawn to Fallers. The team later discovered the amnesiac Anabel on Poni Island's shore. Looker also notes Nanu mentored him when he first joined the International Police.
For Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, he stations outside a Route 9 police station, commenting on Alola's peace while expressing concern over Team Rocket sightings. He later acts as Anabel's bodyguard during her Battle Tree training.
The "Pokémon Generations" animated short features his investigations. Episode 2 ("The Chase") depicts him leading a raid on Team Rocket's Viridian Gym, finding Giovanni gone. Episode 17 ("The Investigation") shows him pursuing Essentia in Kalos, confirming her identity as Emma and freeing her from the suit's control with Mimi's help.
He also appears in spin-off media like Pokémon Masters EX, partnering with Croagunk as a sync pair, and in the anime episode "Frozen on Their Tracks." Specific plot details for these appearances are not elaborated.
