Description
Ichiro Watanabe is the high-ranking executive and head of security at Shijima Motors, tasked with protecting the company's proprietary technology. In the real world, he orchestrates Momotaro Morikawa's arrest on fabricated corporate espionage charges to recover a tablet holding advanced self-driving car software developed by Momotaro and his deceased wife, Ikumi. Watanabe personally pursues Momotaro's daughter Kokone to retrieve both the tablet and a stuffed bear doll connected to the technology. He possesses a distinctive beard and wears corporate attire.

Within the dream realm of Heartland, he manifests as Bewan, the king's primary advisor. As Bewan, he deliberately undermines the kingdom's defenses against the Colossus threat by manipulating events to ensure the king's giant robots fail. This sabotage aims to position him as the kingdom's savior using his own giant robot, allowing him to seize power. Bewan appears as a robed vizier, contrasting with Watanabe's real-world look.

Watanabe/Bewan's motivations stem from his past association with Ikumi's research team at Shijima Motors before her death. His actions drive the central conflict across both realities: employing technological sabotage like launching disinformation campaigns to discredit the self-driving technology in reality, while using mystical curses to destabilize the kingdom in Heartland. His narrative arc concludes with simultaneous defeat in both worlds: arrested by corporate authorities in reality and deposed by the king's forces in Heartland after his schemes fail. As the primary antagonist, his pursuit of the tablet and its technology directly instigates Kokone's journey and the revelation of her family history.
