TV Special
Description
Rebecca Rossellini is an Italian entrepreneur and CEO of the Rossellini conglomerate, operating Italy's largest hotel chain, hailing from a prominent San Marino family. Her background features numerous impulsive, thrill-seeking career shifts through acting, modeling, and filmmaking, none offering lasting fulfillment.

As a teenager, she dated Wataru Uraga, a brilliant Japanese student in San Marino. Unbeknownst to her, Uraga possessed the ability "Il Sogno Italiano" to implant his personality into dreams, a connection later involving her in Leonardo da Vinci's schemes. Rebecca accepted a marriage proposal from Lupin III, though their union was mutually manipulative—both sought to steal the Royal Crown of Libertas; Lupin for its value, Rebecca for the thrill of the theft. She displayed significant physical and mental prowess, nearly outmaneuvering Lupin before his victory, a defeat she accepted. Their marriage was later annulled as Rebecca never submitted the paperwork, though Lupin continued protecting her.

Rebecca leads a double life: glamorous public figure by day, skilled thief by night. Her engineering talents produced a custom tilt-rotor aircraft for heists. She leverages considerable resources, such as purchasing entire vineyards or historical sites, to bypass security or thwart competitors like Fujiko Mine.

Initially driven by boredom and thrill-seeking, Rebecca evolved to develop genuine affection for Lupin and a desire to become worthy of the "Mrs. Lupin" name. She promised to grow into someone deserving of that title despite the annulment. Among Leonardo da Vinci's "chosen apostles" tested via the Italian Dream, Rebecca was the sole failure. This allowed da Vinci to inhabit her mind, exploiting her memories to build his psychological kingdom. Lupin later disrupted this control by using her wedding ring to access her memories.

She reappeared aiding Lupin against PeopleLog, providing refuge on an inconspicuous rundown fishing vessel unlikely to draw paparazzi. Rebecca maintains distinctive blonde hair with blue highlights and favors predominantly white, flashy outfits—even during thefts, typically only adding glasses. Publicly, she presents as a cheerful, bratty celebrity; privately, she reveals deep cunning, resourcefulness, and determination. Her comfort food is french fries, and she sleeps during the day, often working in sleepwear.

In the Italian Game storyline, an obsessed fan named Pietro, directed by the Masked Count, kidnapped Rebecca. This drew Lupin into a challenge to locate the Count of Cagliostro's inheritance, forming the special's central plot.
