Kanae Yamazaki emerges as a key accomplice to the criminal group led by the legendary hitman Kondo. She enters the narrative after Conan Edogawa is kidnapped, feigning amnesia following a bathhouse incident. Her first decisive action involves shooting two of Kondo's male partners dead at close range, leaving Kondo as the sole survivor of the original trio. During this confrontation, she addresses Kondo as the legendary hitman, confirming their prior association. She subsequently conceives and directs the operation's second phase. Discovering a Yaiba festival ticket in Conan's pocket, she instructs Kondo to take the child there. She equips Conan with a backpack containing remotely detonated explosives intended for an attack, planning to use him as an unwitting bomb carrier amidst the festival crowd. Unbeknownst to her, Conan is feigning amnesia and avoided taking the sleeping pill she provided. Kondo observes the hidden pill but remains silent. Later, Kondo retrieves the pill and administers it to her, rendering her unconscious. This incapacitation allows Kondo to assist Conan unimpeded. Her ultimate fate involves succumbing to the sleeping pill's effects and subsequent capture by law enforcement as the plot collapses. The police safely dispose of the explosives intended for the attack.
