Description
Jin Tōjō is the father of protagonist Basara Tōjō and was formerly acknowledged as the "Strongest Hero" within his hidden hero clan village. He raised Basara in this village environment, where expectations were placed on Basara due to Jin's status and strength.
Five years prior to the main story, during Jin's absence from the village, an S-Ranked Evil Spirit broke free, resulting in numerous deaths among villagers, including Basara's friends and family. Upon returning, Jin confronted the aftermath. He insisted on Basara's release from confinement imposed by the village elders, accepting the condition that he relinquish his title as a hero and leave the village. This sacrifice allowed Jin and Basara to relocate to the city.
Later, Jin informs Basara of his remarriage, introducing Mio Naruse and Maria Naruse as Basara's new stepsisters. Jin takes Mio and Maria into his household specifically to protect them, as Mio is the daughter of the former Demon Lord Wilbert and is targeted by the current Demon Lord's forces seeking her inherited powers. Shortly after the family moves in together, Jin departs overseas on business, leaving Basara to protect the girls.
Despite his physical absence for much of the series, Jin maintains contact. He demonstrates ongoing strategic awareness of supernatural conflicts, evidenced by phone calls to unidentified recipients following significant events, such as after Basara defeats the hero clan member Yahiro. Professionally, he works as a photographer.
Physically, Jin is an adult male with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 1.83 meters tall. He is sometimes depicted wearing glasses, slippers, and smoking a cigarette, with a facial scar noted.
