Description
Kōko Kaminaga, designated No. 3 in Class Black at Myōjō Academy, balances student life with her role as an assassin. She possesses long black hair usually styled in twin pigtails, light blue eyes, and wears oval-shaped glasses. Her typical attire is a blue short-sleeved shirt, a long white skirt with blue trim, black tights, and black ballerina shoes, occasionally accessorized with a large rosary cross necklace inherited from her mentor, Irena.

Orphaned early, Kōko grew up in Kanagawa Prefecture's Yokosuka at Clover Home, a Catholic orphanage secretly functioning as an assassin training facility. She struggled significantly with practical combat and physical skills, leading to peer bullying. Irena, a skilled assassin within the organization, became her sole ally. A critical mission went awry when Kōko accidentally triggered a bomb prematurely, causing Irena’s death. This event deepened her isolation and guilt, cementing her reputation as a failure within Clover Home. Consequently, the organization deemed her expendable and assigned her to Class Black as a low-priority participant.

Strict, authoritarian, and perfectionistic, Kōko often declares herself "the leader of everything." She maintains a stoic exterior masking profound insecurity and anxiety, overcompensating through meticulous planning and academic excellence. Despite her self-doubt, she is resourceful and intellectually gifted, excelling in theoretical studies and bomb-making. Her hobbies include reading; she favors chocolate and dislikes organ meats, sleeping approximately six hours per night.

As class representative in Class Black, Kōko managed duties like roll calls and school trip logistics. Her assassination attempt against Haru Ichinose employed strategically placed explosives: a frag grenade hidden in a refrigerator and a pipe bomb concealed in a grape soda can. Both devices failed when detected by Haru and Tokaku Azuma. In a subsequent trap within a library secret room, she detonated another bomb, but Tokaku shielded Haru. A physical confrontation followed, ending with Kōko’s surrender after exhausting her ammunition and will to fight. Her expulsion was marked by a red spider lily on her desk, symbolizing "sad memories" tied to Irena’s death and the potential for reunion.

Initially resigned to succeeding Irena within Clover Home post-expulsion, Kōko later aided Suzu Shutō by constructing a bomb collar for her assassination attempt. She eventually fled the organization, pursued by Clover Home operatives. The anime depicts her eliminating pursuers while wearing Irena’s necklace, signaling her resolve to secure freedom by force. The manga shows her remaining active as an assassin. A doujinshi storyline portrays her collapsing at Suzu’s estate, where they lived reclusively and watched summer fireworks together, suggesting a quieter life.

Kōko’s core abilities lie in bomb-making and tactical planning, evidenced by complex explosive devices and schematics like dormitory layouts. Her physical combat skills are notably poor, and she struggles with firearms. Spin-off media (Koakuma no Riddle) notes her proficiency in kissing, a skill honed through Irena’s cherry-stem-tying exercise.

In the OVA, she wears a light turquoise swimsuit during a pool segment.
