Description
Kaori Takigawa, initially introduced as Eri Takigawa in Japanese media, emerges as an elite volleyball setter. Her exceptional talent propelled her onto Japan’s national team at age 13, leading to participation in the Los Angeles Olympics before the series’ primary timeline. Her technical mastery in setting and orchestrating team strategies cements her status as a premier figure in Japanese volleyball.

Beginning as a rival to the protagonist, her dynamic shifts toward mutual respect and collaboration, evolving through on-court clashes and eventual alliance. This partnership solidifies when both join the professional team Seven Fighters and later unite on Japan’s national squad for the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

In the sequel "New Attacker You!" (circa 2008), Kaori resurfaces with China’s Dragon Ladies after a ruptured Achilles tendon halted her Olympic journey two years prior. Post-recovery, she revitalizes the relegated team by mentoring younger talents like Glin Wong and deploying tactical expertise during matches.

Her leadership consistently emphasizes strategic plays such as the "Cobra Spike" and collaborative techniques like the "Double Dragon Smash." While her non-volleyball background remains unexplored, her unwavering dedication to the sport transitions seamlessly from elite play to mentorship roles.
