Description
Tobio Fūma, a human descendant of the historical Fūma ninja clan, carries a family lineage deeply entwined with ancient events and artifacts. His involvement with the Autobots ignites during a school trip to Nagoya Castle when Predacons attack to steal a Legendisc. Remembering his grandfather's warnings, Tobio seizes the disc, provoking the Predacons to threaten his classmates. His intense emotional reaction awakens the Shinobi Team—three ninja-themed Autobots concealed within the castle—who leap to his defense. A flash of light during the battle briefly transports Tobio and the Autobots to the Sengoku period.

Working alongside the Shinobi Team, Tobio discovers their secret base hidden beneath his home. Guided by Optimus Prime, he and his friend Isami Tatewaki dedicate themselves to locating the remaining Legendiscs. These missions trigger unpredictable time slips, hurling Tobio into different historical eras. In one such journey, he encounters his ancestor, Kotarō Fūma. Tobio demonstrates selflessness by saving monkeys endangered in a Predacon battle, earning Kotarō's trust and the Legendisc, though the disc is lost upon his return to the present. Subsequent missions involve rescuing figures like Sasuke Sarutobi from bandits, leading to another Legendisc acquisition.

Initially, Tobio employs deceptive tactics to obtain the discs, contrasting Isami's straightforward approach. This "Guile Hero" tendency draws disapproval from his honor-valuing ancestor Kotarō. However, Tobio evolves beyond these methods, increasingly prioritizing others' safety—risking his own life to protect innocents during time-travel conflicts. His growth culminates in the final battle against Dragotron at Mount Fuji. After the Predacon absorbs Tobio and Isami to harness the power of all five Legendiscs, the pair draw upon their "hearts of justice" to expel themselves. They then merge spiritually with the Autobots Gekisoumaru and Kenzan, enabling a triple combination with Optimus Prime that defeats Dragotron and restores Mount Fuji.

His involvement in the Kre-O comic is minimal, depicting him protected by First Aid during a Decepticon attack.
