Description
Luhy Jistone is a supporting character in the anime and light novel series Nyaruko: Crawling with Love. She is a Cthulhi, also known as a star-spawn of Cthulhu, a type of alien being from the Lovecraftian mythos. Initially, Luhy worked at Cthulhu Corp., a space-based company that produced video games and other entertainment media, operating as a rival to the CCE corporation. However, she was eventually fired from that position and afterward became a street vendor selling takoyaki, a popular Japanese snack.

In terms of personality, Luhy is cheerful and bubbly, with a noticeable fondness for cute things. She is often seen wearing a large penguin hoodie, which has become a distinctive part of her appearance. Despite her generally upbeat demeanor, she has a mischievous and trickster side, and she is fearless when confronting danger. She possesses a strong sense of empathy and care for others, and she is fiercely loyal to her friends, showing a willingness to protect them at all costs.

Luhy's motivations revolve around her desire to belong and to support those she cares about. After losing her corporate job, she adapts to life on Earth by running her takoyaki stand, which becomes a means of interacting with the main cast. As the story progresses, she develops romantic feelings for Hasuta, another alien character, and in the latter part of the series she declares to Mahiro Yasaka, the human protagonist, that she will become his rival for Hasuta's affections. This rivalry adds a layer of friendly competition to her interactions.

Her role in the story is that of a supporting ally and occasional comic relief. She assists Nyaruko, Cthugha, and the others in battles against various antagonistic alien forces, using her formidable abilities. Luhy is a powerful warrior: she possesses physical strength, magical capabilities, and otherworldly senses that allow her to perceive threats beyond normal human range. These abilities make her a valuable asset in combat, even though her lighthearted personality often undercuts the seriousness of a situation.

Luhy's development throughout the series is subtle but present. She transitions from a former corporate employee to a small-business owner on Earth, and her growing emotional attachments help her find a new sense of purpose. Her relationship with Hasuta and her rivalry with Mahiro show her capacity for genuine affection and her willingness to compete in a friendly manner. She remains a steadfast friend to the main group and continues to demonstrate her empathy and protective instincts, solidifying her place as a beloved member of the ensemble cast.
