Description
Brau Balm holds the position of blue Sword Eyes of Darkness. Hailing from a lineage dedicated to the Atlantian royal family's imperial guard, a pivotal event 14 years before the main story shapes his past: his failed interception of Bringer, who was escaping Atlantia with the infant Tsurugi. This defeat left Brau with a prominent facial scar and resulted in his dismissal from the guard. The scar serves as a perpetual reminder of this failure, fueling his obsession for vengeance against Bringer.

His personality is marked by extreme seriousness, coldness, and an unyielding intolerance for failure, especially his own. He exhibits fierce, near-fanatical devotion to Yaiba, the Midnight Sun King. After losing to Tsurugi during a rescue attempt for Bringer, Brau believed his defeat dishonored Yaiba. Demonstrating his rigid honor and a degree of fatalism, he requested Yaiba execute him as punishment. Though Yaiba initially agreed, Garudos Randall intervened and persuaded the king to spare Brau's life.

Seeking to reaffirm his loyalty following this, Brau volunteered to combat Haqua Estoc when she challenged Yaiba. During their duel, Haqua argued that Brau's unquestioning loyalty to Yaiba limited his perspective and closed him off from the world; Brau rejected this reasoning but was defeated. Later, he confronted Amarello Berge as she attempted to secure Grenada's freedom from the west villa. Amarello noted a similarity, comparing her protective loyalty to Grenada with Brau's towards Yaiba. Brau lost this battle too, resulting in Grenada's freedom.

Brau participated in the ritual to summon the Sword of Judgment, battling Sora Ryuuyo during the event. In the final conflict against Garudos, who had merged with a godly entity threatening the world, Brau focused on neutralizing Stinger units to facilitate the safe evacuation of people into arks. The series epilogue depicts him training alongside members of the Red Army, indicating his continued role within the world's new order, with his core loyalty to Yaiba remaining intact.

Within the card battle framework, Brau utilizes a blue deck emphasizing spirits possessing the rush ability for swift attacks. Key cards in his arsenal include The AbyssalGod Dist-Ruction and The AbyssGiantSword Abyss-Apocalypse. His battle record includes a victory against Bringer, losses to Tsurugi Tatewaki, Haqua Estoc, and Amarello Berge, and an inconclusive encounter with Sora Ryuuyo.
