Mitico Fleuretty, who goes by Michiko, is a devil from the Otherworld—a realm separate from both the Human and Demon Realms. She serves as maid, bodyguard, and close companion to Annerose Vajra. Though her true name is Fleuretty, she insists on being called Michiko, a name given by Annerose, and reacts angrily if referred to otherwise. She similarly resents reminders of her true form as a Black Dragon, preferring to imagine herself as a “swallowtail butterfly.” Despite her duties, Michiko is deeply inept at household chores like cooking and cleaning, often making situations worse. She sleeps frequently to preserve energy and sustain her form in the human world, and her poor sense of time leads her to wake others at inopportune moments.
Michiko exhibits a tsundere demeanor: pleasant and loyal toward Annerose, but rude, cruel, and antagonistic to everyone else, so long as her actions are not lethal. She is intensely in love with Annerose and grows fiercely jealous of anyone who draws her attention, especially Tachibana Rikurou, whom she sees as a rival. This jealousy drives her to play malicious tricks on Rikurou, exploiting his immortality to harm him without lasting effect. She respects Neu Eazlane but is generally dismissive or hostile toward others, including humans, demons, and spirits. She holds particular contempt for vampires, whom she regards as inferior despite their typical reputation as powerful beings.
In human form, Michiko has short bright green hair, violet eyes, pointed ears, and a young-adult physique with notable features. She typically wears a maid outfit with a headdress, choker, ribbons, evening gloves, and ankle boots. She can shapeshift into a suitcase, often carried by Annerose. Her true form is that of a powerful Black Dragon. To remain in the human world, she must suppress much of her innate power, which is considerable due to her origin as one of the six superior spirits of the Otherworld and a former subject of Demon Lord Belzebuth.
Her presence in the human world is stabilized by a contract with Annerose, which also keeps her identity concealed. They operate through Annerose’s detective agency in Amidahara. The exact nature of their past and contract remains undisclosed, but Michiko despises her Otherworld kin and prefers the Human World, which she desires to protect. Her history includes capture by the magician Barde, who sought to use her connection to the Otherworld to create a gate capable of destroying both Human and Demon Realms. During this event, she was drained of magical energy and forced to open a temporary gate. Rescued by Annerose and Rikurou, she emerged in dragon form to save them from an explosion, then shrank to miniature size due to energy depletion, slowly recovering by absorbing ambient magic.
Across different timelines, Michiko’s experiences vary. In the Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena timeline, she aids Annerose in combat, works with characters like Asagi and Kotaro to close an Otherworld gateway, and displays her typical arrogance toward vampires. In the RPGX timeline, where Rikurou appears not to exist, she remains Annerose’s sole maid and shows concern for financial stability, advocating for risky contracts such as one with Belphegor, whose Otherworld aura she recognizes. In the Action timeline, she is involved in incidents like zombie attacks orchestrated by Barde to capture her, thwarted by the Taimanin Task Force. An OVA explores a bad ending in which she is subjected to continuous experimentation by Barde, resulting in the death of Otonashi Miki, a character she had found appealing. Art books depict hypothetical scenarios where she and Annerose form a romantic relationship with Rikurou.
Michiko’s abilities include shapeshifting into human or suitcase forms, wielding axes as her primary weapon, and employing darkness and ice magic. Her most powerful form is the Black Dragon, assumed only when necessary and at great energy cost. Despite her abrasive exterior, her actions consistently demonstrate devotion to Annerose and a commitment to protecting the Human World from threats, whether from demons, humans, or entities from her native dimension.
