Description
Kakeru Todoroki is an extraordinarily cheerful, energetic, and reckless fifth-grade student at Arcadia Academy who passionately identifies himself as a hero. Honoring a promise to his mother, he strives to smile, bow, and avoid causing trouble during introductions, though chronic struggles with punctuality frequently lead him to compensate through dramatic actions. His distinctive appearance features tan skin, brown hair marked by three lightning-bolt-shaped spikes on his forehead and sides, auburn eyes, a yellow bandage beneath his left eye, and red/white headphones. He typically wears a red/white T-shirt bearing a yellow crossing logo, baggy blue pants with white side stripes, red/white sneakers, and gloves.

A fervent wrestling enthusiast, Kakeru seamlessly integrates wrestling techniques into daily life and combat as a Gyrozetter pilot. His signature moves, "Lightning Slash" and "Hyper Blast," pay direct homage to idols like Yamajiri and Devil III. This passion extends to his Gyrozetter, Raibird, whose sword he christened "Thunderclap Blade." Kakeru's unique catchphrase, misusing "depressingly" as an adjective (e.g., "depressingly awesome"), often sparks confusion.

He pilots Raibird, Arcadia’s inaugural completed model, designated "The Crimson Lightning." Following a defeat by Eraser-01, Raibird received the Hyper Spec upgrade, enhancing its armor and speed. Later, during an incident stranding Kakeru and Rinne in 2053, Raibird was permanently rebuilt as the Shining Edition (SE), gaining flight capabilities, a sword-gun hybrid weapon, and fire-based attacks. Kakeru shares a profound bond with Raibird, exhibiting machine empathy and occasional communication.

Key relationships shape his journey: Rinne Inaba, his childhood friend, acts as his straight man while harboring unspoken feelings. His rivalry with Shunsuke Hayami evolves into a "Bash Brothers" dynamic, and his partnership with Souta Gunji (Eraser-01) unlocks their "Double Burst" combination attack, "Ice Pillar Roaring Flameslash." Threats to loved ones trigger Kakeru's berserk button, unleashing unstoppable rage or traumatic superpower awakenings; witnessing Rinne’s near-death or Souta’s peril has provoked his Final Burst attacks.

His development spans temporal and emotional dimensions. Stranded in 2053, he appears as a professor aiding Moebius Engine development, sporting a facial scar and heightened resolve. This future iteration becomes a target for Lord Goat, causing temporal instability that faintly erases his presence from recordings. Kakeru also confronts clone-related revelations involving Haruka and brainwashed allies like Souta, reinforcing his commitment to protection.

Kakeru participates in multiverse conflicts, collaborating with entities like Class 3-E and Sora. His legacy as a hero is defined by unwavering optimism, wrestling-inspired heroics, and evolution from a reckless student into a pivotal defender of humanity.
