Description
Sōhei Fujii enters Yuki’s life as a transfer student in fourth grade, quickly becoming her closest friend. Sporting black hair, brown eyes, and a wardrobe of striped shirts paired with shorts, his casual style masks a sharp curiosity. This inquisitiveness drives him to probe Yuki’s peculiar habits and animal-like scent—a pursuit that culminates in her wolf form accidentally wounding him. Yet he shields her secret, blaming the injury on a wild creature, his loyalty outweighing fear.

Raised by a single mother who later remarries and becomes pregnant, Sōhei grapples with abandonment fears, convinced he’ll be displaced in the new family. These anxieties fuel his yearning for self-reliance, manifesting in dreams of boxing, wrestling, or living untethered as a “lone wolf.” His empathy surfaces when Yuki tearfully confesses her hybrid identity; he calmly reassures her he’d already pieced it together and would never betray her trust.

Two years later, a storm traps them overnight at school. Amid the chaos, Sōhei voices his isolation and desire to flee societal pressures—a vulnerability that inspires Yuki to fully unveil her dual nature. Their bond deepens, tinged with unspoken romantic possibility, echoing her parents’ pivotal moment of truth.

Humor and resilience define Sōhei’s interactions, his perceptiveness allowing him to navigate fractured family ties while anchoring Yuki’s struggle to reconcile her human and wolf identities. Though his future remains unwritten, his influence steers her toward embracing both sides of her heritage, their shared journey underscoring the quiet strength of their connection.
