Buffoons emerge as the primary antagonistic creatures within the series, born when a villain merges an ordinary object with a specialized clown nose. These noses originate from stolen Glitter Charms transformed into colored orbs, activating the creature. The resulting Buffoon manifests as a distorted, clown-like entity blending features of the fused object with consistent traits: circular eyes bearing slashed red markings, white gloves, legs, and a protruding tongue. While each Buffoon's physical design is unique, these core clownish attributes remain constant.
Their abilities derive directly from the object they inhabit—a Buffoon fused with a mirror might generate multiple illusions, while others could fire object-related projectiles. Standard combat capabilities include high jumping, hand-to-hand engagement, and wielding their elongated tongues as weapons. Buffoons are categorized by nose color, dictating power, defenses, and defeat requirements:
- **Red-Nosed Buffoons**: The initial, most common type. They possess significant physical strength but remain vulnerable to individual purification attacks, yielding one Glitter Charm upon defeat.
- **Blue-Nosed Buffoons**: Lacking embedded Glitter Charms, they are immune to individual attacks. Only the combined Tiara Mode Torrent can purify them.
- **Yellow-Nosed Buffoons**: Functionally identical to red-nosed variants but summoned exclusively by Rascal, possessing camouflage abilities to mimic ordinary objects.
- **Super Buffoons**: Created by fusing multiple red noses into a crimson nose. They exhibit heightened strength, speech capacity, and unpredictable aggression, even toward controllers. Containing two or four Glitter Charms, they resist individual attacks and Tiara Mode Torrent, requiring the Rainbow Burst group attack for defeat.
- **Green-Nosed Buffoons**: Non-combat variants appearing only in virtual environments, serving as passive obstacles or targets.
- **Twilight Buffoons**: Formed by coating any nose with black paint used for unhappy ending spells. Piloted directly by a villain, their facial markings reflect the pilot's features. Impervious to all standard attacks, Tiara Mode Torrent, and Rainbow Burst, vulnerability occurs only after destroying the black paint using the Royal Clock's power, followed by a lesser attack or the Royal Rainbow Burst technique. Defeat causes physical pain and weakness in the pilot.
Primary antagonists like Ulric, Brute, Brooha, or Rascal summon Buffoons. Most release a Glitter Charm upon purification, except blue-nosed variants. Their core nature remains consistent, with variations in strength, intelligence, and resilience tied to their nose classification and embodied object.
