Description
Major Ryūsuke Genda commands the elite Library Task Force at the Kantō Library Base, serving as a supervising librarian and veteran field commander notorious for his exceptionally tough, reckless leadership style. Though his demanding methods draw occasional complaints from subordinates, they hold deep respect and loyalty for his unwavering commitment to opposing censorship and protecting his team at all costs—willing to risk anything to defend intellectual freedom and safeguard his command. He recommended Iku Kasahara for the Task Force, recognizing her potential despite early struggles, but later dismissed her from guarding Commander Nishina during a high-stakes transfer of sensitive museum materials to the Musashino Library. This decision resulted in Kasahara and Nishina’s kidnapping by pro-censorship groups demanding historical documents be destroyed, prompting Genda to coordinate their successful rescue. Later, defending Odawara’s museum against the Media Betterment Committee’s assault, he demonstrated tactical leadership by protecting evidence of illegalities tied to the Media Betterment Act’s passage. His actions consistently prioritize strategic outcomes and the preservation of uncensored information.
