Description
Nemu Manaka attends Rokukeikan Academy, renowned as her class's most beautiful student. She possesses distinctive ash blonde or brown hair typically arranged in a braided bun, violet eyes, and very pale skin hinting at rumored Western heritage. Standing 168 cm tall with measurements of 85-58-84 cm, she wears the traditional sailor school uniform with black knee-high socks or thigh-high stockings. At school, she maintains a reserved, observant demeanor, often remaining alone and avoiding interactions with classmates like Keisuke Takatou and Kanae Hokari, believing friendships hinder her. This isolation stems partly from fear instilled by her older brother Manabu, who threatened her over low academic rankings.

Her background reveals she was born to become a "Sleeping Beauty," raised in confinement within a facility where she endured isolation and hardship. She escaped as a child and met Keisuke, forming a deep bond that became her emotional anchor. Recaptured together, Nemu negotiated Keisuke's release by erasing his memories of her. Years later, they reencountered at the academy, where Nemu participated in a facility-orchestrated experiment. When Keisuke suffered mortal wounds during this event, Nemu pleaded with Kanae to spare him, resulting in a bet: Keisuke would be freed if Nemu could provoke him to hate her enough to kill her.

Trapped within a virtual reality "game" in white rooms, Nemu adopted a deliberately cruel and sadistic persona. She taunted Keisuke and other captives to incite hatred, manipulating situations to expose Keisuke's hidden desires and appearing amused by others' suffering. This villainous facade was a calculated effort to fulfill her deal with Kanae. Her actions included psychological torment and coercion, culminating in Keisuke nearly strangling her.

After Keisuke finally attempted to kill her under duress, Nemu succeeded in securing his survival. She then tried to persuade him to join her in escaping to "Paradise," but he refused and fled the facility, promising to return. Subsequently, Kanae erased Nemu's memories, leaving her with a childlike, innocent personality devoid of past traumas and relationships. Three years later, Keisuke reunited with her, and they escaped together. In this final state, her demeanor was notably naive and dependent, requiring care from others like Kanae. Her journey spans an isolated student, a performative antagonist, and a state of vulnerability after memory loss. Key relationships include unwavering devotion to Keisuke, whom she protected at all costs, and a complex dynamic with Kanae, her overseer and caretaker.
