TV-Series
Description
Yūta Asaba is the elder twin brother of Yūki Asaba, born on June 20. Standing at 174.8 cm, he is slightly taller than his brother and the tallest in their friend group. His appearance closely mirrors Yūki's, differentiated by his center-parted brown hair, orange eyes, and a small mole on his lower right hip. In winter, he wears the standard school uniform with the blazer left open.

Compared to his twin, Yūta displays greater independence and emotional expressiveness. He carries a calm and collected demeanor, earning him a reputation as the most mature and observant within their circle, often perceived as "cool." His personality blends rationality with deep loyalty; he consistently prioritizes the well-being of his friends, especially Shun Matsuoka and Yūki. Academically capable and skilled in sports, drawing, and kendo, he names his brother as his primary weakness, frequently accommodating Yūki's needs. He dislikes celery, favors warm udon noodles, and prefers quiet environments.

His background includes lifelong friendships with Kaname Tsukahara, Shun Matsuoka, and his brother since kindergarten. In their second year of high school, he shares a class with Shun, and in their third year, with Kaname. He practiced kendo in middle school and joined the high school tea ceremony club alongside Shun. While particularly popular in elementary school due to his selflessness, he remains sought after by peers during adolescence.

Romantically, Yūta develops feelings for a classmate, Takahashi. They dance together at the school sports festival and exchange Valentine's Day chocolates. They date briefly before Takahashi ends the relationship, believing she imposed her feelings despite his growing reciprocation.

Throughout the series, Yūta acts as a peacekeeper and mediator, diffusing conflicts among friends. He subtly supports them during personal challenges, noticing Shun's anxieties about the future or Yūki's unspoken interest in Kayo, the cafeteria worker. His observant nature catches emotional shifts others miss.

Yūta expresses a desire to visit Paris but admits a stronger preference for staying in Japan to visit hot springs, reflecting his attachment to familiar comforts. His development highlights a balance between self-sufficiency and devotion to his twin, often prioritizing Yūki's happiness over his own ambitions. Enneagram analysis categorizes him as a Type 9 (The Peacemaker), emphasizing conflict-avoidance and occasional passivity, though he shows stubbornness when core values are challenged.

His relationships are defined by quiet reliability. He shares a teasing dynamic with Kaname, often provoking his short temper alongside Yūki. His bond with Shun involves mutual care, evident in their shared club activities. The arrival of half-Japanese transfer student Chizuru Tachibana introduces new group dynamics, and she assigns him the nickname "Yūtan."
