TV-Series
Description
Friend M is a recurring character and close confidante to Ekoda-chan, sharing her cynical worldview. Together, they often express frustration toward women they label "birds of prey"—those who use calculated cuteness to manipulate men.
At a drinking party, Friend M overhears intoxicated men discussing rumors about Ekoda-chan’s lifestyle and various jobs. They regard Ekoda-chan as intriguing and impressive, which stirs jealousy in Friend M. She leaves the party early as a result.
Returning home, she finds Ekoda-chan eating alone after being stood up by her boyfriend. Friend M’s jealousy fades into care and solidarity. She joins the meal, explaining she didn’t invite Ekoda-chan because the party attendees were uninteresting. Their conversation reveals a friendly rivalry and mutual respect, as they acknowledge the difficulties of their carefree lifestyles and take comfort in their friendship and simple pleasures like curry rice.
Friend M and Ekoda-chan’s dynamic is built on their shared cynicism, with Friend M occasionally serving as a foil to Ekoda-chan’s crass or bold nature.
