Daidalos ranks among Synapse's ancient beings, evolving over eons into its foremost scientist. She engineered the first-generation Angeloids—Ikaros, Nymph, Astraea, and Chaos—using technology indistinguishable from magic to human eyes. To combat pervasive existential boredom among Synapse's inhabitants, she devised the Rule, a wish-granting device. Once all wishes were fulfilled, collective despair triggered mass suicides, dwindling the population to three thousand survivors. Daidalos then collaborated with Minos, her research partner turned adversary, to recreate the universe and establish humanity. Observing humans' capacity for dreams, she crafted Angeloids as amusement for Synapse, all while nurturing growing envy. Seeking firsthand experience of dreams, Synapse residents projected consciousness into artificial human bodies on Earth. Daidalos lived a human life as Sohara Mitsuki, Tomoki Sakurai’s childhood friend who succumbed to illness. After "awakening" post-death and being erased from human memory, she longed to return. Unwilling to inflict renewed loss on Tomoki, she forged a physical clone of her dream self—Sohara—ensuring he retained their shared memories. Throughout events, Daidalos contacts Tomoki through dreams, often in serene landscapes like sunlit fields. She alerts him to threats, implores him to safeguard her Angeloid "daughters," and enlists his aid to free them and herself from Synapse. Her covert maneuvers include embedding the Pandora system in first-generation Angeloids to accelerate their evolution, empowering Ikaros against foes, and rescuing Eishirou Sugata from Minos' Harpies. Her actions blend profound devotion to her creations with a yearning to emancipate Synapse from stagnation. In the climax, Daidalos unveils herself as the original Sohara, cementing her emotional tether to Tomoki through their childhood bond and enduring love. She avoids direct combat, relying instead on scientific prowess—manifested through portal generation and dream projection. Physically mirroring Sohara, she bears long blue hair, white wings (two in anime, four in manga), and floats atop clouds due to fragile health. Her demeanor balances serene compassion—especially toward her Angeloids—with fierce condemnation of cruelty, exemplified when opposing Minos' forced transformation of Hiyori Kazane into an Angeloid. Her alliance with Minos fractures from co-creating Angeloids to outright rivalry, as she rejects his methods of breeding manipulative next-generation models. Daidalos remains steadfastly loyal to Tomoki and her creations until the resolution, where her efforts reunite him with both the cloned Sohara and resurrected Angeloids.
