Prince Hydron functioned as the secondary antagonist turned anti-hero in *Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia*. The sole son of King Zenoheld, he held the titles of Prince of Vestal, leader of New Vestroia, and commander of the Vexos organization early in the story. His primary objective centered on completing a collection of petrified statues representing five legendary Bakugan soldiers—Blade Tigrerra, Hammer Gorem, Preyas, Storm Skyress, and Alpha Hydranoid—intending to add Drago as the final piece.
Hydron exhibited a personality marked by entitlement, arrogance, and ruthlessness. He dismissed concerns about harming opponents, exemplified by his response to injuring Mira Fermin: "Boy? Girl? All I see is brawler!" Unlike most Vexos members, he voiced no opposition to the Alternative Weapon System, despite its threat of universal destruction. His actions were largely driven by a deep-seated desire for validation from his father, who consistently belittled him as a disappointment.
Following the defections of Spectra Phantom and Gus Grav from the Vexos, Hydron assumed the role of Subterra brawler, partnering with the mechanical Bakugan Dryoid. This partnership revealed a rare instance of genuine care, as Hydron expressed belief in Dryoid's capabilities during battles, including against Zenoheld's Farbros. He demonstrated significant brawling prowess, securing victories like defeating Baron Leltoy to claim Haos attribute energy and overcoming Lync Volan using a Death Bomb—a device that banished opponents to another dimension.
After public exposure of the Vexos' crimes led to their exile from Vestal, Hydron lost his royal status but showed little resentment. His mental state deteriorated under continued failures and paternal rejection, manifesting in erratic behavior and violent outbursts. Following torture via the Agonizer and imprisonment by Zenoheld, Hydron escaped with Gus Grav's assistance. This escape catalyzed his alignment with the Resistance against his father.
In the final confrontation, Hydron used Dryoid to land the decisive blow on Zenoheld's Farbros, trapping his father within the mech. As the Alternative System self-destructed, Hydron uttered his last words—"Volt... Lync... I'll be there... soon"—implying his acceptance of death alongside those he had banished. His physical appearance evolved from regal white formal attire to a brown coat with fur trim after his deposition, occasionally accessorized with orange-framed glasses. A habitual gesture involved twirling a lock of his curly light green hair around his index finger.
