Prince Hydron is the son of King Zenoheld, serving as prince of Vestal, commander of the Vexos, and leader of New Vestroia. His initial obsession is completing a collection of petrified Bakugan statues: the Six Soldiers who saved Vestroia—Tigrerra, Gorem, Preyas, Skyress, and Hydranoid. He relentlessly pursues adding Drago to this collection, deploying the Vexos to capture the Bakugan at any cost.
He exhibits a spoiled, arrogant, and ruthless nature, consistently prioritizing his ambitions over others' safety. Hydron shows no hesitation in harming opponents, famously dismissing concerns about injuring Mira Fermin with the declaration, "Boy? Girl? All I see is brawler!" Deep resentment flares when belittled, particularly by terms like "spoiled brat" or "his father's son." Fear of Zenoheld's disapproval drives him; he panics after failures and shifts blame to evade punishment. A distinctive habit sees him twirling a lock of hair around his finger during contemplation or agitation.
Following the Vexos' defeat in the first arc and the Resistance's exposure of Vestal crimes, Hydron flees New Vestroia aboard the Vexos Motherpalace. Stripped of his royal title, he becomes the Vexos' Subterra brawler, replacing Gus Grav, and partners with Dryoid, a mechanical Bakugan created by Professor Clay. Despite his prior ruthlessness, he displays genuine care for Dryoid, staunchly believing in its battle capabilities. His brawling prowess proves formidable when he swiftly defeats Baron Leltoy to seize the Haos Attribute Energy.
Hydron's mental state deteriorates under mounting losses and pressure. After defeat by Volt Luster, he deploys a prohibited Death Bomb to eliminate Volt, nearly perishing himself. He later uses the same lethal tactic against the traitorous Lync Volan, showcasing his inability to handle failure and growing instability. His motivations narrow to seeking Zenoheld's validation, culminating in a breaking point when the king dismisses his efforts and subjects him to torture via the Agonizer. This abuse triggers a dream where Volt and Lync suggest he rule instead, prompting Hydron to challenge his father. Though initially dominant in their brawl, he loses after hesitating on a final blow, hoping for acknowledgment. Imprisoned with Gus, Hydron escapes after Gus provokes him by calling him "Zenoheld's lapdog," freeing Dryoid to shatter their cells.
In the final battle against Zenoheld, Hydron allies with the Resistance. He commands Dryoid to destroy Zenoheld's Farbros and traps his father within the collapsing Alternative Weapon System. Accepting his fate in the ensuing explosion, his last words are, "Volt... Lync... I'll be there... soon." This sacrifice completes his transition from antagonist to anti-hero, a final act of self-determination against lifelong oppression.
His brawling record includes victories against Baron Leltoy and Lync Volan, losses to Marucho Marukura (in a tag battle with Shadow Prove), Volt Luster, and Zenoheld, and a pivotal win alongside the Resistance in the final confrontation with his father.
