Description
Yuliy Jirov, also called Yuriychka, is a teenage male of mixed human and Sirius heritage. His human mother, Sachi, and Sirius father, Alexei, raised him initially in the isolated village of Dogville alongside his older brother Mikhail. Vampires destroyed Dogville, killing Sachi. Fleeing together, the brothers faced another vampire attack; Mikhail sacrificed himself to save Yuliy, pushing him off a cliff to safety before being overwhelmed. Witnessing the destruction of a scarf gifted by his mother triggered Yuliy's first activation of his latent Sirius "Beast Blood" abilities in a rage. This state allowed him to kill his vampire pursuer but left him near death in the snow. Found by the former archaeologist Willard, Yuliy was taken in. Willard became a father figure, urging Yuliy to channel his grief and rage into becoming a "Jaeger" – a vampire hunter – to avenge his family. Alexei had left years earlier to seal the powerful "Ark of Sirius" relic and never returned, remaining a distant figure.

Physically, Yuliy is tall and lean with pale skin and deep blue eyes. His long, messy dark blue hair is typically tied in a low ponytail, featuring a distinctive white streak near his left temple. Activating his Beast Blood causes his eyes and veins to glow bright blue, and the white streak spreads further. He is sensitive to cold. His standard attire includes a pale blue fur-lined coat, a long-sleeved light blue shirt, dark blue jeans, black boots, and a vibrant scarf, often with an olive green jacket tied around his waist.

Personality-wise, Yuliy is quietly reserved and stoic, often isolating himself. Years of trauma and a singular focus on vengeance against vampires contribute to his seemingly cold demeanor. However, he is fiercely protective of allies, especially children, showing unexpected kindness and patience, as seen with Saki Hanada. Confronting vampires triggers intense aggression, ruthlessness, and recklessness. He frequently acts impulsively, jumping into battles alone without regard for safety or teamwork, creating friction with comrades due to his deep-seated stubbornness. Despite his vengeful drive, a core sense of loyalty, justice, and compassion exists. He struggles internally with his dual heritage and the uncontrollable rage unleashed by his Beast Blood. Over time, interactions with his found family among the Jaegers and complex relationships with figures like his vampire-turned-brother Mikhail and the vampire Ryouko prompt gradual development, moving him slightly beyond pure revenge towards a more complex understanding of his purpose.

As a half-Sirius (a lineage of werewolves), Yuliy possesses inherent supernatural physiology limited by his human half. He lacks a full transformation but exhibits significant physical enhancements: superhuman strength (shattering weapons, surviving high falls), agility (dodging high-speed attacks), endurance (operating without exhaustion, catching moving trains), and acute senses (particularly smell for detecting vampires). His pain tolerance and healing factor are exceptionally high, enabling rapid recovery from severe injuries. His most potent ability is activating his "Beast Blood," triggered by intense rage or stress. This causes his eyes and veins to glow blue, amplifying his physical capabilities to extraordinary levels but inducing a berserk state where he cannot distinguish friend from foe. Greater rage causes the white streak in his hair to spread. His primary weapon is a customized three-section staff, often with retractable blades, which he mastered through self-training and wields with lethal efficiency. Later, he seals the "Ark of Sirius" relic within his right eye, gaining access to its significant but undefined new powers.

Yuliy's relationships are shaped by loss and conflict. He views Willard as a crucial parental figure and mentor, feeling profound loyalty, though strained upon learning Willard's archaeological work indirectly led vampires to Dogville. His bond with his brother Mikhail is central and tragic. Initially believing Mikhail died protecting him, their reunion is fraught when Yuliy discovers Mikhail survived as a vampire. Despite being on opposing sides with Mikhail serving the vampire leader Yevgraf, a complex dynamic persists. Mikhail repeatedly disobeys orders to kill Yuliy, hinting at enduring fraternal loyalty, while Yuliy struggles to reconcile his hatred for vampires with his love for his brother. Among the Jaeger team (Dorothea, Philip, Fallon), Yuliy maintains distance but gradually accepts them as a surrogate family, showing concern for their safety and occasionally participating in brief conversations. He forms a gentle, protective bond with Saki Hanada, a young girl who lost her father, bringing out a softer, more talkative side. Ryouko Naoe, daughter of a Jaeger ally, develops romantic feelings for him, but Yuliy remains largely oblivious. His partnership with Bishop, a vampire-hunting government agent, is built on mutual goals and respect. Yuliy maintains trust in Bishop even after discovering his vampire nature, valuing the truth in his eyes and words.

Beyond combat, Yuliy possesses knowledge of gardening and plant observation, reflecting a calmer aspect of his personality. His favorite subject was biology, while he disliked calligraphy. He enjoys sashimi and mandarins but has no particular disliked foods. A noted weakness is tobacco.
