Movie
Description
Rollpanna, a recurring character in the Anpanman franchise, is Melonpanna's sister. Uncle Jam crafted her from the "Flower of Pure Heart" pollen and Melonpanna's juice, intending her as a hero. Baikinman sabotaged this creation by adding Bacteria Grass, causing Rollpanna to be born with two conflicting hearts: a red heart symbolizing goodness and a blue heart representing evil. The sight of Melonpanna activates her red heart, while seeing or hearing about Anpanman triggers her blue heart, making her temporarily hostile.

Her appearance features a white turban-like head wrap marked with a red "R", a cyan cape, and a primarily black outfit with white accents. Two hearts on her chest visibly display her dual nature. When the blue heart dominates, she transforms into "Black Rollpanna", marked by a darker head wrap, red eyes, and increased aggression. Under extreme conditions, like excessive Bacteria Grass exposure or scientific experiments, she becomes "Complete Black Rollpanna", losing all memories of her good self and acting destructively.

Rollpanna wields a gymnastics ribbon as her primary weapon, using it to restrain foes or generate tornadoes. She possesses superhuman flight speed compared to other characters and can hear Melonpanna's calls for help across vast distances. To prevent her evil heart from harming others, she lives in isolation, emerging only when Melonpanna summons her or Baikinman forces her evil side to surface.

Her relationships are shaped by her duality. She is fiercely protective of Melonpanna, whose presence calms her evil impulses. Though her evil heart compels her to attack Anpanman, she respects him and sometimes cooperates against greater threats. She shares tentative friendships with Currypanman and Shokupanman, who understand her condition. Conversely, she resents Baikinman for corrupting her creation, though he sometimes coerces her into aiding his schemes.

Key media appearances chronicle her struggle for control. In the 1995 film *Yūreisen o Yattsukero!!*, Baikinman exploits her to pilot a ghost ship and turn her fully evil, requiring Melonpanna's intervention for restoration. The 2002 film *Roll to Laura, Ukigumojou no Himitsu* sees Baikinman use amplified Bacteria Grass to permanently blacken her, increasing her aggression and desire to destroy Anpanman; Melonpanna again reverses this state. An unspecified film features a subplot where she bonds with an interdimensional princess, offering escape from isolation, but Rollpanna chooses to stay out of loyalty to Melonpanna.

Rollpanna remains a tragic figure embodying unintended consequences and internal conflict. Her design draws inspiration from the Jekyll and Hyde archetype and Takarazuka Revue heroines, emphasizing her role as a complex antiheroine.
