Ryogen is secretly Tokugawa Ieyasu, the historical founder of the Tokugawa shogunate. After the Ayakashi Yasha reveals that he was destined to rule, this knowledge becomes his primary motivation. He seeks to overthrow the reigning Toyotomi shogunate and claim the power he believes is rightfully his. To achieve this, he commands Ayakashi monsters, using them to assault his enemies and undermine the current government.

Among his supernatural forces is Jijouda, a human-sized Ayakashi with two to three horns and bat-like wings. By flapping these wings, it generates fierce gusts that form a barrier capable of deflecting bullets. Its only vulnerable spots are its eyes. Ryogen directs these creatures in his campaign against the gun-wielding Gundoh martial artists, striving to rewrite history and seize the shogunate.
