Description
Black Fang serves as the main antagonist in *Happiness Charge Pretty Cure!: Ningyou no Kuni no Ballerina*. A former high-ranking commander of the Phantom Empire, he now operates solo, harboring ambitions to amass power by exploiting despair. His scheme fixates on manipulating talented ballet dancer Orihara Tsumugi. He callously severs her ability to walk and dance, plunging her into crushing despair to fuel his strength. To deepen her suffering and ensure a constant flow of negative energy, he weaves an elaborate deception: the artificial paradise known as the Doll Kingdom. He presents this realm as a place where Tsumugi can dance freely, masking his true intent to use her as a conduit for despair. He further isolates her by branding the Pretty Cure team as enemies threatening the Doll Kingdom.

His abilities reflect his command over darkness and manipulation. He generates corporeal threads of despair to ensnare victims, constructs confinement cages, and petrifies living beings into dolls—a fate inflicted on characters like Blue and Seiji Sagara. He summons and controls Phantom Empire Saiarks, including specialized variants such as Bee Saiarks. He projects despair worldwide, creating barriers potent enough to block external hope-based energy like the Miracle Dress Lights. Absorbing accumulated despair triggers his most significant metamorphosis, evolving him into a monstrous form with amplified destructive power.

His downfall commences when Tsumugi rejects despair entirely. Inspired by Cure Lovely's unwavering support, Tsumugi converts her anguish into hope, fracturing Black Fang's control and allowing the Miracle Dress Lights to breach his barrier. This enables Cure Lovely to assume the Super Happiness Lovely form. During the final confrontation, Lovely executes the Miracle Love Motion finisher, augmented by the combined assault of Cure Princess, Cure Honey, and Cure Fortune. This collective power decisively annihilates him. Unlike other Phantom Empire members typically purified, his defeat results in permanent destruction.

Following his elimination, the Doll Kingdom dissolves, reversing all his effects: Tsumugi regains her mobility, and those transformed into dolls revert to their original states. His legacy is marked as the only Phantom Empire commander permanently annihilated rather than redeemed.
